by kind permission of Datamend Limited As I was going to St Ives
I met a man with seven wives.
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits;
Kits, cats, sacks and wives -
How many were going to St Ives?

This famous riddle relates to the pleasant English market town of St Ives on the River Great Ouse, 15 miles from Cambridge.
St Ives Town Centre is the focus of the town's commercial, leisure and cultural activities and the maintenance and improvement of the area is seen as vital in securing the health and prosperity of the Town itself.

The St Ives Town Initiative - an association of public, voluntary and private sector organisations - has an important role to play in the planning and the managing of the Town Centre.
